For more than 15 years; Mr Shamsul has been part of the consultant teams that undertook projects under the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB)’s technical assistance programme in Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan since 2008. CSQlaw’s footprint in Central Asia is further solidified through its international office in the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC), established since 2019.
For corporate clients, he advised a broad range of government entities, state corporations and start-up companies in their acquisition and fundraising exercises.
Apart from the legal practice, a member of the board of directors in Al-Hijrah Media Corporation, Mr Shamsul also serves as a Vice Secretary for the Association of Seniors in Islamic Finance (ARIF). His other board membership positions include the IIUM School Sdn Bhd (a subsidiary of IIUM Holdings Sdn Bhd) and a cooperative society.
Mr Shamsul represented Malaysia in the International Visitor Leadership Program (IVLP) held in the United States of America in 2011. He has served the government before in two ministries: Higher Education; and Entrepreneurship Development.
