Mr Shafie has vast experiences in handling real estate/ property related matters ranging from real estate development and its related matters, sale and purchase of properties in the secondary market, perfection of transfers and  charges, tenancies and leases and the related financing documentations. Amongst the property projects he was involved in throughout his career includes those by Perbadanan Kemajuan Negeri Selangor (PKNS), ASM Development Sdn Bhd, Sime Darby Property, and UDA Land Sdn Bhd.

In addition, Mr Shafie has advised bank and non-bank clients on diverse legal issues relating to financial product development and corporate/business exercises; his clients include Coop Bank Pertama dan Permodalan Kelantan Berhad.

Mr Shafie was a member of the consultant team who did the feasibility study on exporting Malaysian professional services to Kazakhstan; carried out under the Malaysian International Trade Development Corporation (MATRADE)™ Services Export Fund (SEF) programme.
